Foundation Module
Creating a Framework
To begin the Omnium program, students will gather in Toronto for a two-week-long foundation module during which they will be introduced to certain central concepts in statistics, strategy, business design and other areas. You will develop a base to support your subsequent learning, and meet the peers with whom you will study and collaborate during the upcoming international residencies. By completing a series of self-assessment inventories, you will also create a plan to improve your management skills and leadership attributes.
CRUNCHING THE NUMBERS FOR BIFF
“I do a lot of numerical analysis as a consultant. The course really boosted my skills in this area. It also had some practical application, which was nice. I did an analysis of data I’d gathered while working for the Bermuda International Film Festival (BIFF). It shows that the more films and events people attend, the more they enjoy the festival. I’ve talked to the management committee of BIFF about how they can use that information to promote themselves and generate higher revenues. They implemented the changes at the 2006 festival with considerable success.”
